Highlighting the role of Startup Madeira in fostering innovation and export of knowledge, government officials emphasize its impact on local and global business landscapes.

In a recent visit to Startup Madeira, located at the Campus da Penteada, the Minister of State Reform, Gonçalo Matias, and the Regional Secretary of Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, praised the incubator's role in transforming innovative ideas into companies with international reach.

Startup Madeira has become a pivotal platform for the region, enabling local companies to expand beyond the island's shores. This event underscored the dynamic environment fostered by the incubator, where technology-driven enterprises can grow and access national and international markets.

Minister Matias described the visit as 'very productive', commending the technological companies incubated at the facility. Many of these enterprises have already begun scaling operations, marking significant milestones in their journey toward internationalization.

Highlighting the importance of bridging research with business needs, Minister Matias mentioned the AI2 - Agency for Research and Innovation. This public policy initiative aims to align scientific research with market demands, fostering sustainable growth and adding value to the economy.

José Manuel Rodrigues highlighted the 29-year history of Startup Madeira, emphasizing its continuous role in connecting research with the business sector. By incubating ideas and attracting investors, the incubator helps companies overcome the geographical barriers of insularity, leveraging digitalization and emerging technologies.

Startup Madeira also offers ideation and acceleration programs, supporting regional entrepreneurs and fostering international projects in areas such as Blue Economy and Tourism, as well as in sectors like healthcare, software, and international banking services.

The visit reflects a broader strategy to position Madeira and Porto Santo as global business platforms, utilizing technological advancements to turn geographical challenges into competitive advantages.
