Marco José Abreu Costa, a resident of Conjunto Habitacional Canto do Muro in São Gonçalo, Funchal, passed away on March 17, 2026. His funeral was held on March 19, beginning at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça and proceeding to the cemetery chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade in São Gonçalo. A mass was celebrated, followed by his burial. A 7th-day mass is scheduled for March 22 at the parish church of São Gonçalo.
Manuel dos Santos João
Manuel dos Santos João, a long-time resident of Estrada Banda D'Além, Ribeira Brava, died on March 16, 2026. His funeral took place on March 17, with a service held at the parish church of São Bento, Ribeira Brava. The funeral procession began at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça and included transportation for mourners from Furna. A 7th-day mass will be held at the same church on March 22.
Cecília dos Santos
Cecília dos Santos, who lived at Caminho da Capela da Encarnação in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, also passed away on March 16, 2026. Her funeral was conducted on March 17, starting from Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça and leading to the cemetery chapel in Câmara de Lobos. A mass was held prior to her burial, and a 7th-day mass is planned for March 22 at the parish church of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação.
