The Regional Section of Madeira of the Order of Architects has announced the launch of the 6th edition of the Madeira and Porto Santo Architecture Prize, celebrating outstanding architectural achievements.

The Regional Section of Madeira of the Order of Architects (SRMAD) has officially launched the 6th edition of the Madeira and Porto Santo Architecture Prize (PAMPS) for 2026. This prestigious event aims to honor and highlight architectural works that significantly contribute to the quality and preservation of architectural and landscape heritage in Madeira and Porto Santo.

The award ceremony, a collaboration between SRMAD and the Regional Secretariat of Tourism and Culture (SRTC) through the Directorate of Regional Culture (DRC), will recognize projects that excel in architectural quality, environmental sustainability, and integration with the surrounding landscape. This year's focus is on the category of Requalification Works, encouraging architects to submit their proposals by May 22, 2026.

The announcement of winners and honorable mentions is scheduled for August, with the award ceremony taking place in September. The event will also include an exhibition of all submitted projects, providing a platform for architects to showcase their innovative designs.

The PAMPS prize emphasizes the role of architecture in expressing the identity and culture of Madeira, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing the quality of life for its residents. It also serves as a strategic resource for boosting the region's appeal to tourists by preserving its unique architectural heritage.

As Madeira continues to attract visitors worldwide, initiatives like the PAMPS underline the island's commitment to maintaining its cultural and environmental integrity while fostering innovation in architectural practices.
