Elderly Man Injured in Bus Fall
An elderly man sustained minor injuries after falling while alighting from a bus near the Marina Shopping roundabout. The incident prompted the dispatch of the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal, who quickly transported the injured man to the Hospital Dr Nélio Mendonça for treatment.
Taxi Engulfed in Flames
In a separate incident, a taxi van was completely destroyed by fire on the exit ramp of the expressway from Santo António to Funchal. The fire required a robust response from the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal, with six firefighters and two vehicles attending the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the vehicle was entirely consumed by the flames.
Bus Passenger Loses Consciousness
Earlier in the day, emergency services responded to a call at Avenida do Mar, where a 67-year-old woman lost consciousness inside a bus. The Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses were on the scene promptly and transported the woman to Hospital Dr Nélio Mendonça for further medical attention.
