Elderly Woman Rescued in Funchal

On December 27, 2025, the firefighters were called to an apartment on Rua Elias Garcia in Funchal. An elderly woman in her 80s, living alone, was reported to be in distress. The firefighters, along with the local police (PSP), forced entry through a window to reach the woman, who was feeling unwell. She was promptly attended to and transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further medical care.

Swift Action Saves a Dog

In a separate incident on December 28, 2025, the firefighters responded to a call on Caminho do Pasto in São Gonçalo, where a dog was trapped in a stream and unable to escape. Two firefighters managed to rescue the animal without injury, and it was safely returned to its owner.
