Funchal Hosts Civil Protection Quiz for Over 250 High School Students

In a proactive effort to educate its youth on the importance of civil protection, the city of Funchal, Madeira, organized an interactive quiz titled 'Test Yourself with Agent P – Dr. Why'. This event was specifically targeted at high school students as part of the Civil Protection Month 2026 celebrations.
Held at the historic ColĂ©gio dos JesuĂtas, the quiz saw participation from 268 students from 13 classes across three major schools: Escola Básica e Secundária Gonçalves Zarco, Escola Secundária Francisco Franco, and Escola Secundária Jaime Moniz.
The event was organized by the Funchal Municipal Civil Protection Service, aiming to increase awareness and preparedness among young individuals regarding civil protection measures. Such initiatives are crucial in Madeira, an island prone to natural events such as storms and landslides.
By engaging students in this educational activity, the organizers hope to instill a sense of responsibility and knowledge about safety protocols, potentially impacting future generations and enhancing community resilience.
The quiz not only tested the students' current knowledge but also provided them with new insights into civil protection strategies and the roles they can play in their communities.
