Kicking off the celebrations, a lecture by Arborist Pedro Ginja took place in the Assembly Room. The lecture, titled 'Historical Gardens and Landscape Art in Funchal's Historical Center: Thoughts on Arboricultural Heritage and Other Stories,' was attended by Paula Jardim Duarte, a local councilor.
Throughout the day, participants have the opportunity to join three guided tours. These tours are organized by the Department of Green Spaces and Climate Action, providing an in-depth look at Funchal's rich horticultural landscape and its historical significance.
