Empowering Futures: New Initiative Supports Vulnerable Youth in Madeira

In a concerted effort to enhance opportunities for young people from socioeconomically vulnerable backgrounds, the 'Pxo@EmpoweringFutures – E9G' project has been launched in Santa Cruz and Porto Santo. The project is part of the 'Programa Escolhas', a program that has been in operation since 2001. Its mission is to promote social inclusion by developing personal, social, cognitive, and critical thinking skills among children and youth. On May 13, 2026, Paula Margarido, the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Labor, and Youth, visited Porto Santo to oversee the project's progress.
