Violent Incident at Mercado dos Lavradores

On April 3rd, a violent attack occurred at the Mercado dos Lavradores in Funchal. A 32-year-old man was assaulted and subsequently transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça by the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses. The incident took place around 11 PM, drawing attention to the need for increased security in public spaces.

Traffic Accident in Funchal

Earlier on the same day, emergency services were called to a car accident on Calçada da Encarnação. A 38-year-old man, although able to exit his vehicle on his own, suffered leg injuries and was also taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça. This incident underscores the importance of road safety measures in the bustling areas of Funchal.

Biking Accident in the Ecological Park

On April 2nd, a separate incident involved a 48-year-old man who was injured in a biking accident at the Parque Ecológico do Funchal. The emergency response team, consisting of five members and two vehicles, attended to the man who suffered a suspected leg fracture.

Fatal Cardiopulmonary Arrest in Ponta do Sol

In another tragic incident, an elderly man in his 80s suffered a fatal cardiopulmonary arrest on April 1st. Despite efforts by EMIR and local volunteer firefighters, the man could not be revived. This incident occurred at Caminho do Castanheiro in Ponta do Sol, highlighting the ongoing need for quick emergency responses across the island.
