Distressed Woman on Ponte em frente ao Bazar do Povo
On April 30th, 2026, the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters were called to assist a 45-year-old woman exhibiting distress on the bridge in front of Bazar do Povo, a well-known local landmark in Funchal. The woman, whose erratic behavior drew the attention of passersby, was supported by both the public and the Public Security Police (PSP). She was subsequently transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further care.
Assault on Rua do Ribeirinho de Baixo
Later that evening, at around 10 PM, emergency services responded to an assault on Rua do Ribeirinho de Baixo. A 43-year-old Nepalese man was attacked, resulting in injuries to his face and mouth. He received immediate medical attention from the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters and was also taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
Electrical Fire at Caminho das Voltas
