On March 18, 2026, a man in his 70s suffered a cardiac arrest in his residence located in Santo António. Thanks to the swift intervention by the EMIR and the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal, he was successfully resuscitated and transported to the Hospital Dr Nélio Mendonça for further care.
Just days earlier, on March 15, another case of cardiac arrest occurred at Jardim da Serra. Despite the efforts of the EMIR and the Bombeiros Voluntários de Câmara de Lobos, a man in his 60s sadly passed away.
