Cardiac Arrest in Santo António
On March 18, emergency services were called to a residence in Santo António after a man in his 70s suffered a cardiac arrest. The Emergency Medical Intervention and Rescue (EMIR) team, along with the Funchal Fire Brigade, responded promptly. The man was successfully resuscitated and transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment.
Pedestrian Accident on Estrada Monumental
Earlier on the same day, a foreign woman in her 40s was struck by a vehicle on Estrada Monumental. The Funchal Fire Brigade quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance. Suffering from leg pain, she was taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for medical attention.
Traffic Accident on Rua do Engenho Velho
On March 16, a traffic accident involving two cars occurred on Rua do Engenho Velho. A man in his 70s, complaining of chest pain, was treated on-site by the Funchal Fire Brigade and later transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
Fatal Cardiac Arrest in Jardim da Serra
Tragically, on March 15, another man in his 60s experienced a cardiac arrest in Jardim da Serra. Despite the efforts of EMIR and the Câmara de Lobos Volunteer Firefighters, he could not be revived.
Unexplained Death at Madeira Tecnopólo
On January 29, a man in his 40s was found dead near Madeira Tecnopólo. Emergency services, including EMIR and the Public Security Police (PSP), attended the scene. The death was deemed not to be due to sudden illness or suspicious circumstances.
