On March 30, 2026, a car accident occurred on Estrada de São João, resulting in injuries to a man in his 30s. The Funchal Fire Brigade responded to the incident, providing immediate medical attention to the victim, who complained of chest pain. He was subsequently transported to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for further evaluation.
