The AICTPS has successfully hosted the first Porto Santo Gastronomic Tour, while the Pastoral da Saúde emphasizes compassionate care in health services. Both initiatives reflect community spirit and commitment to excellence.

In a remarkable showcase of culinary and community spirit, the AICTPS (Association of Tourism and Business of Porto Santo) recently concluded the first Porto Santo Gastronomic Tour. This event, held from March through early April, saw participation from 14 local restaurants, each eager to display the island's rich culinary heritage.

José António Castro, the head of the association, expressed immense satisfaction with the event, noting that both locals and visitors embraced the initiative. "It was truly a wonderful initiative," he remarked, highlighting the enthusiastic participation of local eateries that demonstrated the best of Madeira's gastronomy.

Parallel to these culinary celebrations, the Pastoral da Saúde has been advocating for compassionate care in health services. During a conference titled 'Human Care: Transforming Health into Compassion,' held at the IDEIA space of the regional parliament on World Health Day, key messages from Pope Leão XIV were echoed.

The Pope's emphasis on universal health coverage as a moral imperative resonated with attendees, stressing that health should be accessible to all as a fundamental aspect of social peace. The event underscored the importance of integrating empathy into healthcare, an ethos championed by Father José Pinheiro during the conference.

Both events underscore a shared commitment to enhancing life quality on Madeira, whether through gastronomy or healthcare, reflecting a broader dedication to community welfare and cultural richness.
