Car Accident on the Via Rápida
A significant traffic incident occurred on the Via Rápida, involving two cars, one of which overturned. A 34-year-old woman sustained cervical injuries and was transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça. The response included seven members of the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses.
Stabbing in Funchal
Later that day, a 55-year-old man was stabbed in the face during an altercation at the gardens of Campo da Barca, Funchal. The victim was first taken to the Comando Regional da PSP and then to the hospital for further treatment.
Assault and Injury in Zona Velha
Another violent incident took place on Rua Dom Carlos I in Funchal's Zona Velha. A 58-year-old man suffered a head injury and required hospitalization. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about public safety in certain areas of Funchal.
School Incident on the Rise
In a separate incident at Escola da Levada, a 14-year-old student suffered a suspected cranial injury following a fall in a sports area. Emergency services quickly transported her to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, emphasizing the necessity for safety measures in educational institutions.
Traffic Accident at Estrada da Eira do Serrado
Earlier, on May 6, a 28-year-old woman was injured in a car accident on Estrada da Eira do Serrado. She was seated in the back when she hit her head on the front seat. The Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal attended to the scene, and she was also taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
