A guided coasteering session on the south coast - scrambling, swimming and jumping - taking children from eight, with hotel pick-up and all the neoprene included.

Budget about five hours door to door for two and a half to three and a half hours on the rock and in the water; the transfer from a Funchal or Caniço hotel is part of the price. Everything technical is provided down to the neoprene socks, and the company says outright that non-swimmers are welcome. At 75 € flat with no child rate it is the most expensive way in this list to get a family into the sea.

Worth knowing: Phone before you plan around it. The booking calendar is live, but the newest dated page on the whole site is from June 2024, and it is worth hearing a voice confirm the season. Ask at the same time what happens if the swell cancels the day.

Prices

75 € a person, the same for a child. Wetsuit, shoes, neoprene socks, helmet, lifejacket, snorkel gear, insurance, permits, guides, an energy bar, water and the photographs are included.
