INTRA – Olhar para Nós, a touring exhibition at Galeria Pimenta 22

The touring exhibition INTRA, Olhar para Nós is at Galeria Pimenta 22 from 30 October to 30 November. Each of the 26 participating artists, who come from Portugal, Germany, France, Italy, Ukraine, Romania, Spain, Venezuela, Japan and Argentina, starts from the same life-size human silhouette and turns its outside into a portrait of an inner self. The project comes from Girarte, a cultural association based in Funchal, and mixes disciplines rather than sticking to painting. It is a gallery visit of half an hour or so, easy to fit around a day in town, and the shared silhouette format makes it simple to compare how differently the artists approach it.
