The fourth of seven autumn seminars run by the regional archives directorate (DRABL) at the Centro de Estudos de História do Atlântico takes place on Friday 30 October at 15:00. It has two talks. Francisco da Silva Costa looks at water heritage in north-west Portugal through the Archiv-Ave project; Paulo Ladeira follows Madeira's water from necessity to leisure across the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, which is the levada story seen from the archives rather than the trail. Entry is free, but you register by email beforehand. It is an academic session for people with a real interest in the island's history, not a casual drop-in.

Practical information

The listing gives the venue as the Centro de Estudos de História do Atlântico but no address or transport details; check CEHA's own page before you set out.
