Caminho do Pináculo e Folhadal

The longest and hardest of the classified routes, 15 km from Lombo do Mouro to Encumeada with 6 h 30 of walking time. It is the only one IFCN grades difficult, running between 1490 m and 970 m across the western end of the central range. Treat it as a full mountain day, not a levada stroll.

- This route starts and finishes in different places, so settle how you will get back before you set off.
- The route reaches 1490 m. Cloud, wind and temperature at that height are often nothing like the coast.
