The challenging terrain necessitated the involvement of the Santana Volunteer Firefighters, who mobilized six members and two vehicles to execute the rescue operation. The operation took approximately three hours, and the injured tourist was subsequently transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment.
Incident in Funchal's City Center
Another incident involved a 33-year-old French tourist in the bustling city center of Funchal. The tourist was found in a distressed state near the Avenida Sá Carneiro and was assisted by the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters and the local police (PSP). She was transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for evaluation.

A third incident involved a boating accident at the Marina of Quinta do Lorde in Caniçal. A 76-year-old tourist experienced bodily injuries after the vessel she was on capsized due to strong waves.
