The Municipality of Funchal received 146 contributions during the public consultation phase for its new Local Accommodation Regulation, involving both local and foreign participants.

The Municipality of Funchal has concluded its public consultation process for the new Local Accommodation Regulation, receiving a total of 146 contributions. This initiative, aimed at gathering feedback from interested parties, was conducted from April 26 to May 11, 2026.

The public consultation provided an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to voice their opinions, suggestions, and observations about the proposed regulation. Contributions were accepted both online and in person at the Citizen's Shop (Loja do MunĂcipe), located at Rua 5 de Outubro in Funchal.

A significant portion of the feedback came from Funchal residents, although foreign citizens also participated. The City Council noted that many submissions were detailed and well-developed, reflecting a high level of engagement from the community.

Following this consultation phase, a report will be drafted to summarize the contributions. The final version of the regulation will be prepared for approval by the City Council and subsequently by the Municipal Assembly. Once approved, it will be published in the Diário da República and come into effect.

We commend the residents for their active participation in shaping the future of local accommodation management in Funchal.
