On the afternoon of May 10, 2026, an elderly man sustained minor injuries after falling while exiting a bus near the Marina Shopping roundabout in Funchal. The Funchal Fire Brigade quickly responded to the scene, providing immediate medical assistance. The man was subsequently transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further evaluation.
Taxi Van Engulfed by Fire
Earlier that same day, a taxi van was completely destroyed by a fire on the highway exit towards Santo António, affecting traffic between Câmara de Lobos and Funchal.
