A municipal playground on the flat Machico promenade, beside the old fort and a short walk from the town's sand beach.

The council reopened it with new equipment and put adult outdoor-fitness gear next to it, and the listings describe structures for more than one age group, though no age signage is confirmed. Its value is where it is: on the level seafront walk, so it works before or after the beach rather than as its own trip. It is only partly shaded and hot in the middle of the day.

Worth knowing: Bring your own shade and water. The council's own post about the reopening carries no clear date, so treat the equipment as unverified until you see it.
