Thirteen thousand square metres of central garden with a playground and a café terrace, ten minutes' walk from the cathedral - and shut every weekend.

On size and position it looks like the obvious central option for an afternoon with a small child. The opening pattern is the catch: it keeps office hours, Monday to Friday, and closes on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Whether the playground is fenced is not published, and neither are toilets or parking.

Worth knowing: Closed Saturday, Sunday and holidays. That is the opposite of what anyone assumes about a city garden, and it is the one thing worth knowing about this one.

Getting there

Prices and opening times change without notice, and on this island they change often. Everything here carries the date it was checked in our research notes; if a place has moved or closed, tell us and we will fix it.
