Fatal Choking Incident in Camacha
On March 7th, 2026, a 52-year-old man tragically lost his life due to a choking incident in Caminho da Igreja, Camacha. The Santa Cruz Fire Department responded swiftly, but despite their efforts, the man could not be revived after going into cardiac arrest.
Severe Aggression at Praia Formosa
The same day, at around 8 PM, emergency services were called to Praia Formosa in Funchal due to a severe aggression case. A man in his 40s was found unconscious and later taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital. The Public Security Police (PSP) are investigating the incident.
Motorcycle Accidents Shake the Island
Two separate motorcycle accidents also occurred over the weekend. The first incident involved a young motorcyclist in his 20s who lost control of his bike on Rua da Austrália in Bairro da Nazaré, resulting in a leg injury. He was treated and transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
In another incident, a 27-year-old motorcyclist crashed on the expressway near Camacha, suffering from back pain. Emergency services transported him to the hospital for further care.
