One of the notable incidents involved a young worker, aged 27, who was run over by a trailer at Caminho da Cova do Til, Santa Rita. The accident resulted in a tire rolling over his foot, causing significant injury. Emergency services promptly transported him to Hospital Dr Nélio Mendonça for treatment.
In another case, a worker in his 30s was severely injured after being struck by multiple cement bags at a construction site on Rua Vale da Ajuda, Funchal. The impact left him unconscious, necessitating immediate medical attention at the same hospital.
Public Area Incidents
The discovery of two deceased individuals in public areas has further alarmed the community. A man in his 60s was found dead with a head injury at João Ferino, Santo da Serra, suspected to be from a fall. Meanwhile, another man in his 40s was discovered lifeless near Madeira Tecnopólo, with no apparent signs of foul play.
Additionally, a 27-year-old woman was assaulted with a bottle, sustaining head injuries at the Conjunto Habitacional Pico dos Barcelos. She too was hospitalized at Dr Nélio Mendonça.
