PS proposes reactivating Madeira’s SRS24 health line

Marta Freitas presented a draft resolution recommending that the Regional Government reactivate and consolidate the SRS24 line for health advice, guidance and referral.

The PS proposal calls for the SRS24 line to operate 24 hours a day with permanent staffing by qualified health professionals.

It also proposes uniform referral protocols for self-care, primary health care, urgent care, pre-hospital emergency or hospital emergency.

Freitas said the measure is not a short-term response but a system-organisation measure aimed at user safety and more efficient use of public resources.
