On March 9, a 59-year-old woman was injured in a rear-end collision at the exit of the rapid road in Santa Rita, Funchal. She suffered injuries to her jaw, chest, and thorax and was promptly transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital by the Funchal Fire Brigade.
Chain Collision at Boa Nova
Later that same day, a chain collision involving three cars occurred on the rapid road in the Boa Nova area, heading from Caniço to Funchal. This accident resulted in minor injuries to a woman in her 40s and a man in his 60s, both of whom were taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for medical attention.
Motorcycle Incidents
Earlier in the week, on March 7, a young motorcyclist in his 20s lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a car on Rua da Austrália in Bairro da Nazaré. He sustained leg injuries and was treated at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
