On March 9, 2026, a chain collision involving three cars took place on the expressway near Boa Nova, heading from Caniço to Funchal. This accident resulted in injuries to two individuals: a woman in her 40s and a man in his 60s. They sustained minor injuries and were transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment.
Rear-end Collision Injures Woman
Earlier that day, another accident occurred at the expressway exit in Santa Rita. A rear-end collision between two vehicles resulted in injuries to a 59-year-old woman. She complained of pain in her jaw, chest, and thorax, leading to her hospitalization at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
Motorcycle Accidents Highlight Risks
