The 3rd edition of Funchal's Bread Forum, an initiative by the Funchal City Council, offers engaging educational activities for children, spotlighting traditional bread-making techniques.

The 3rd edition of the Bread Forum in Funchal has kicked off, offering a week-long series of educational activities designed to engage children in the traditional art of bread-making. This event, organized by the Funchal City Council, takes place at the Cultural and Research Center of Funchal (CCIF) and aims to highlight the cultural significance of bread in Madeira.

Under the theme 'Hands in the Dough,' the forum features a variety of workshops, including 'Grandma's Bread Dolls and Trinkets,' which are specifically tailored to educate young participants about the traditional techniques of bread-making. The initiative is part of a broader effort to preserve Madeira's cultural heritage and to instill an appreciation for this important culinary tradition in the younger generation.

Helena Leal, the councilwoman responsible for education, participated in the activities, emphasizing the importance of such events in maintaining cultural continuity. The workshops are conducted by the association A Biqueira, known for its role in cultural education and preservation.

These activities not only provide entertainment but also serve as an educational tool, teaching children about the cultural and historical context of bread in Madeira. By engaging children through interactive sessions, the forum ensures that the essence of traditional bread-making is passed down to future generations.
