Funchal forms committee for revised youth plan
Madeira GuideFunchal's Municipal Youth Council has set up a committee to revise its first Municipal Youth Plan.
The Monitoring Committee of Funchal's II Municipal Youth Plan was constituted at the Municipal Youth Council's first ordinary session of the current term. The session took place on Monday, 28 September, in the Municipal Assembly Room. The committee's constitution was one of the agenda items.
The II Municipal Youth Plan will revise the first plan. A methodology for preparing the new plan was presented at the meeting. The process foresees participation by the municipality, young people, youth organisations and partner entities before the document is submitted to the City Council and Municipal Assembly for approval.
The methodology has five phases. It includes identifying priorities and defining objectives, measures, targets and indicative resources based on the diagnosis carried out and contributions collected.
The council also received a summary of activities, indicators and municipal projects for young people. Programmes presented included Bolsas de MĂ©rito e Valor, scholarships for higher education students, support for youth associations, Jovens em Participação, Educa-te, BalcĂŁo Jovem and FĂłrum Jovem. BalcĂŁo Jovem operates in the EdifĂcio Várzea in SĂŁo Martinho.
Funchal was distinguished this year as 'MunicĂpio Amigo da Juventude' in the five-star category, the highest classification awarded by the Federação Nacional das Associações Juvenis.
