House Rescue in Penteada
On the afternoon of March 8, 2026, the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters were called to a residence in the Penteada area of Funchal. A man in his seventies was found prostrated and in need of immediate medical assistance. The firefighters gained entry by a window and, along with the Emergency Medical Rapid Intervention (EMIR) team, provided necessary aid before transporting the individual to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further care.
Unauthorized Fire in Monte
Earlier the same day, the firefighters were deployed to Caminho dos Lombos in Monte to extinguish an unauthorized fire. Three firefighters managed the situation with a light vehicle to ensure the fire did not spread, highlighting the importance of adhering to local fire regulations to prevent potential hazards.
Road Accident in Boa Nova
In a separate incident, on March 5, 2026, the firefighters attended a road accident in Boa Nova, Funchal. The collision involved a motorcycle and a car, resulting in injuries to a 37-year-old man who experienced pelvic pain. He received treatment on-site before being taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
