The party says mattresses, bulky waste and overgrown paths have been reported in the Estrada do Serrado area of Campanário.

On Saturday, Chega called for stronger cleaning, maintenance and enforcement of public spaces across the municipality of Ribeira Brava, following complaints from residents of Estrada do Serrado in Campanário. The party's local officeholders said they verified the situation on site.

Mattresses and bulky waste have been left beside rubbish containers in the area, while excessive vegetation on some paths is making circulation difficult. Funchal Notícias reported that the overgrown paths raise accessibility, safety and quality-of-life concerns for people who use them daily.

Roberto Gonçalves, a Chega representative in the Ribeira Brava parish assembly, said the case showed the importance of listening to citizens. He said leaving mattresses and bulky rubbish beside containers showed a lack of civic sense, but that responsible public entities must inspect, raise awareness and ensure the waste is removed.

Funchal Notícias reported that Renata Rocha, a Chega member of the Ribeira Brava municipal assembly, said such cases should receive attention from responsible entities and be followed at municipal level. She called for greater coordination between public entities, while the officeholders said awareness and enforcement over bulky-waste disposal should be strengthened and a quick response ensured when cases are identified.

According to Funchal Notícias, Chega said it was available to hear concerns from citizens in all parishes of the municipality, forward identified situations to the competent entities and follow their resolution.
