CDS/PP Madeira backs tax cuts to raise family income
CDS/PP Madeira says the Madeiran executive intends to follow the IRS reduction announced for November while keeping a 30% tax differential.
At a taxation initiative on Friday, CDS/PP Madeira reaffirmed its commitment to reducing the tax burden and increasing families' disposable income.
LĂdio Aguiar, the party's spokesperson, highlighted a 30% reduction in IRS rates across all brackets in the Region compared with mainland Portugal. He said the tax advantage helps retain young people and ease family costs.
Regarding the IRS reduction announced by the Government of the Republic for November, Aguiar said the Madeiran executive intends to follow the reduction while keeping the 30% tax differential. CDS/PP Madeira is PSD/Madeira's governing partner in the regional executive. Miguel Albuquerque had already publicly announced an IRS reduction following the national scenario.
Faced with inflationary pressure on essential goods, Aguiar defended a strategy of wage increases and tax cuts. He said CDS/PP Madeira would continue to prioritise the social agenda without compromising balanced public accounts.
