In celebration of Civil Protection Month, Funchal schools are hosting an aquatic safety awareness campaign, aiming to educate students on water safety practices.

In a bid to enhance water safety awareness, Funchal's municipal initiative, 'Aquatic Safety Awareness,' is being rolled out in schools across the city this March. This campaign is part of the broader Civil Protection Month celebrations orchestrated by the Funchal Municipal Civil Protection Service.

The initiative, spearheaded by the municipal company Frente MarFunchal, aims to educate students on vital water safety practices. The sessions commenced on March 2nd and will continue through March 6th, engaging various school groups throughout the city.

Funchal, known for its beautiful coastline and popular tourist beaches, prioritizes the safety of both residents and visitors. This campaign reflects the city’s commitment to ensuring that young citizens are well-informed about safety measures to prevent water-related accidents.

Civil Protection Month, celebrated annually in March, includes a range of activities designed to raise awareness about safety and emergency preparedness. This year's program features numerous initiatives aimed at different segments of the community, making safety education accessible to all.

By focusing on young students, the 'Aquatic Safety Awareness' sessions are expected to instill lifelong safety habits, reducing risks associated with water activities in Madeira’s vibrant coastal environment.
