The Phoenix Reisen ship will remain at Pontinha overnight before leaving Funchal for Lisbon on Sunday afternoon.

The cruise ship Amadea arrived at the Port of Funchal on the morning of 3 October with 530 passengers and 319 crew members. The ship entered at about 7:45 a.m. from Ponta Delgada for a 34-hour call handled by Blatas.

Amadea will spend the night at Pontinha and is due to depart on Sunday at 17:00 for Lisbon. The Phoenix Reisen vessel is on a 22-night cruise that began on 21 September and starts and ends in Bremen, Germany.

Before Funchal, the itinerary included Portsmouth and Plymouth in England, and Faial, SĂŁo Jorge and SĂŁo Miguel in the Azores. After Madeira, it continues to Lisbon, Porto, Vilagarcia in Spain, Guernsey and Honfleur in France, ending on 13 October.

Amadea was built in 1991 at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries shipyards in Japan, cost 150 million euros and was refurbished last year.

This is the Port of Funchal's first call of October. The high cruise season runs from 1 September to 31 May, and the month has 33 berth reservations expected to move about 75,000 passengers. Norwegian Escape is scheduled to call on 5 October with close to 5,600 people on board.

This site previously reported that Ventura opens Madeira's 2026/27 cruise season.
