The island's only 50 m pool, at Penteada above the university, in a four-pool complex that also has a 25 m pool, a diving tank and a children's learning pool.

It is a competition venue first and a family swim second: regional and national meets ran here through June and July 2026 and clubs bus their classes in from other municipalities. The shallow learning pool is the reason to consider it with a small child, but no casual-entry hours and no price list are published anywhere that could be verified, and it is the one regional pool with no facility-database page at all.

Worth knowing: Two phone numbers circulate - 291 759 833 and 291 741 173 - and neither could be matched to a page the operator serves, so treat both as leads rather than facts. It is also unclear which of the four pools are roofed, which matters if you are going because it is raining.

Not published. The directorate's facilities charge under Portaria n.º 505/2019; secondary listings quote roughly 2.50 € a lane-hour at peak and 2 € between 10:00 and 18:00, and those figures are unverified.
