Travessuras Culturais takes over the centre of Ponta do Sol from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November 2026. This is the festival's tenth edition, and its theme is "Escolher Viver" (Choosing to Live). Performances are spread across the town's streets and squares. The programme mixes capoeira, a show built around the singer Chavela Vargas, and the pieces "As Coisas que Ficam" and "Minha pedra Rosetta". Artists from outside the island share the bill with local performers Dalila Souto, Catarina Perestrelo, Énia Santana and FLOR. Check the festival programme on the source page for times. If you are staying on the south-west coast, it makes a good evening out in a small seaside town.

Practical information

Ponta do Sol is on the south-west coast. Rodoeste buses run there from Funchal, and the town centre is compact enough to walk between stages. Parking in the centre is tight.

Most of the festival is staged outdoors. The listing gives no rain plan, so check the programme if the forecast is bad.
