Suspicious Fire Quickly Contained

At approximately 18:58, the Funchal Fire Brigade was dispatched to the Bairro do Hospital for a suspected fire in an apartment. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the cause was a forgotten pan left on the stove, which was quickly managed. The response involved 15 personnel and five vehicles, showcasing the readiness of the emergency services.

Motorcycle Accident Injures Two Riders

Earlier that day, two separate motorcycle accidents occurred. The first, at 12:19, involved a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Rua da Quinta do Leme. A 36-year-old man sustained injuries to his ribs and leg and was transported to Hospital Dr. N茅lio Mendon莽a for treatment.

In a separate incident at 11:31, another motorcyclist, aged 43, was involved in an accident with a car on Estrada Santo Ant贸nio da Serra, Santa Cruz. He suffered injuries to his arms and legs and was also taken to the same hospital.

Street Brawl Results in Multiple Injuries

At 3:00 AM, a violent altercation broke out on Rua da Carreira, near Largo do Visconde do Ribeiro Real, resulting in three men being injured. The Funchal Fire Brigade and the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters responded. Two men, aged 50 and 60, sustained head injuries, while a third man in his 30s was injured on Avenida do Mar and required medical attention for facial injuries and a suspected nasal fracture.

Tragic Death at Madeira Tecnop贸lo

In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man was found dead near the Madeira Tecnop贸lo. Emergency services, including the EMIR and PSP, confirmed the death was not due to a sudden illness and ruled out foul play.

These events underscore the challenges faced by emergency services in Funchal, highlighting their critical role in ensuring public safety.
