On February 23, 2026, an accident involving five cars occurred in the Boa Nova area, heading towards Caniço. The collision resulted in two individuals sustaining minor injuries, with both experiencing chest pains. A 48-year-old man was among the injured and was quickly transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for treatment.
The following day, February 24, 2026, saw another series of accidents. At around 4:30 PM, a crash involving three cars took place on the ascent from Câmara de Lobos to Estreito. A woman in her 50s was injured, complaining of chest pain due to the impact of the seatbelt. She managed to exit the vehicle on her own and was also taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
Later that day, at approximately 5:54 PM, an accident involving a motorcycle and two cars occurred in the tunnel of Viveiros, in the direction of Funchal to Caniço. A 56-year-old woman was injured, suffering a wound and a suspected fracture to her arm. Like the others, she was transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
