Madeira's Road Safety Council Holds Inaugural Meeting, Approves New Regulations

On March 30th, the first meeting of Madeira's newly formed Regional Road Safety Council was held at the auditorium of the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructures. The council, established as a consultative body, aims to collect statistical data, provide expert opinions, and oversee the development of plans related to traffic management, prevention, and road safety within the region.
The meeting was chaired by JoĆ£o Pedro Sousa, the President of the Board of Directors of the Madeira Institute of Mobility and Transport (IMT), and saw participation from approximately twenty members. This council provides a platform for engaging various stakeholders in discussions about traffic and safety concerns.
The primary objective of this inaugural meeting was to approve a set of regulations that will guide the council's operations and future initiatives.
