Elderly Man Rescued in Funchal

In the Penteada area of Funchal, emergency responders were called to a critical situation involving an elderly resident. A man in his seventies was found prostrated inside his home, necessitating urgent medical attention. The responders had to force entry through a window to reach him. Four firefighters and a team from EMIR provided the necessary aid before transporting the man to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.

Unauthorized Burn in Monte

Earlier the same day, the fire brigade was alerted to an unauthorized burn at Caminho dos Lombos in Monte. Three firefighters arrived with a light vehicle to contain the situation, preventing any potential harm to the surrounding area. Traffic Accident in Boa Nova

A few days prior, on March 5, 2026, a traffic accident in the Boa Nova area of Funchal required the intervention of emergency services. The collision between a motorcycle and a car resulted in injuries to a 37-year-old man. He suffered pelvic pain and was subsequently taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for treatment.
