Assault in Funchal

A 25-year-old woman was assaulted on Rua Bela Santiago in Funchal on the evening of March 4th. Both the Public Security Police (PSP) and the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters were mobilized to the scene. The victim was quickly transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for treatment.

Additionally, on the previous night, the zinc roof of a workshop in Palheiro Ferreiro was dislodged by strong winds, landing on nearby electrical cables. The Madeira Volunteer Firefighters managed the situation, ensuring no injuries occurred.

Animal Rescue Efforts

In Santo António, a goat was stranded on a cliff in Ribeira Grande. Teams from both the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters and the Funchal Fire Brigade were deployed. The rescue operation involved four firefighters and a vehicle, demonstrating the commitment to animal welfare.

Tragic and Severe Incidents

On January 29th, emergency services responded to a grim discovery at Madeira Tecnopólo where a man in his 40s was found deceased in a public area. Investigations ruled out sudden illness or foul play.

In a separate incident, a worker in his 30s suffered severe injuries on February 3rd when several cement bags fell on him at a construction site on Rua Vale da Ajuda. He was taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, where he remains under critical care.
