Pedestrian Accident in Machico

On March 5, 2026, emergency services were alerted to a pedestrian accident near the Health Center in Machico. A woman in her 40s was injured when a car tire ran over her foot. She received immediate medical care and was transferred to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment.

Traffic Collision in Funchal

Later the same day, a traffic accident in Funchal's Boa Nova area involved a motorcycle and a car. A 37-year-old man sustained pelvic injuries and was also taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital. The accident prompted a swift response from the local voluntary firefighters.

Motorcycle Incident on Expressway

In another incident, occurring on the evening of March 4, a 27-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a crash on the expressway to Camacha. The young man suffered lumbar pain and was transported to the hospital by the Santa Cruz fire brigade.

Fallen Tree in Ribeira de Machico

Adding to the day's events, a tree fell onto electrical cables in the Fajã dos Rolos area of Ribeira de Machico, causing a temporary road closure. The local fire department managed to address the situation quickly, minimizing disruption.
