Jorge Armindo da Luz's Farewell
Jorge Armindo da Luz, a long-time resident of Rua Quinta da Aragem, Imaculado Coração de Maria in Funchal, passed away on March 7, 2026. His funeral will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 12:30 PM at the chapel of Nossa Senhora das Angústias Cemetery, São Martinho. The family invites friends and relatives to pay their respects, with the body lying in repose from 10:00 AM.
A special mass to commemorate the 7th day will be held on March 15, 2026, at 11:30 AM in the parish church of São Martinho, Funchal. The family expressed gratitude to the medical staff, particularly the orthopedics team at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, for their care.
Farewell to Manuel Estêvão Fernandes and Audete de Jesus Andrade
Manuel Estêvão Fernandes, a resident of Vereda do Colmeal, Curral das Freiras, passed on March 6, 2026. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026. The procession will begin at 2:15 PM from Hospital Dr. João Almada, with a cortege to the parish church of Nossa Senhora do Livramento, Curral das Freiras. A mass will take place at 3:30 PM, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
Audete de Jesus Andrade, also of Curral das Freiras, passed away on the same day. Her funeral will commence at 12:45 PM from Hospital dos Marmeleiros, reaching the same parish church by 1:30 PM, where a mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM.
Both families have organized transport for those wishing to attend the services, with buses departing from Lombo Chão and Pico Furão.
The 7th day mass for both Manuel and Audete will be observed on March 15, 2026, in the parish church of Nossa Senhora do Livramento. Manuel's at 8:30 AM and Audete's at 11:30 AM. The families express their heartfelt thanks for the condolences and support during this difficult time.
