Initiated by the Sindicato dos Trabalhadores em Funções Públicas e Sociais do Sul e Regiões Autónomas (STFPSSRA), the strike began with 49.3% participation among workers on July 21st.
The Secretariat of Regional Education, Science, and Technology reported that out of 615 staff members, 303 participated in the strike. This action led to the closure of ten schools during the morning shift.
On the second day, the union reported that participation surged to 95%, highlighting the workers' solidarity and their demand for a serious revision of their career paths.
