The Madeira and Porto Santo Architecture Prize 2026 aims to enhance the region's architectural heritage and promote sustainable development.

The Regional Section of Madeira of the Order of Architects (SRMAD) has officially launched the 6th edition of the Madeira and Porto Santo Architecture Prize (PAMPS) 2026. This prestigious award, which highlights the best in architectural requalification, is a collaborative initiative between SRMAD and the Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture (SRTC), facilitated by the Directorate of Regional Culture (DRC).

Candidates for this year's award are expected to submit their applications by May 22, 2026. The award ceremony, along with the announcement of honorable mentions, will take place in August. Following the announcement, an exhibition showcasing all participating works will be inaugurated in September.

The award seeks to recognize projects that contribute significantly to the architectural and landscape heritage of Madeira and Porto Santo. It emphasizes the importance of quality architectural integration within the environment, respect for cultural identity, and sustainability, including energy efficiency and environmental values.

Architecture, as a reflection of a region's identity, history, and culture, is also seen as a strategic resource for the sustainable development of Madeira. This initiative not only aims to celebrate architectural excellence but also to enhance the quality of life for residents and attract tourists interested in the cultural richness of the region.
