Machico's PSD Hosts 'Politics Without Filters' to Connect with Residents

The PSD (Partido Social Democrata) of Machico organized a significant event aimed at fostering closer connections between elected officials and the community. Held at the local party headquarters, this meeting, termed 'Politics Without Filters', sought to eliminate barriers between politicians and the public, promoting transparency and dialogue.
Key speakers at the event included Miguel Costa, a member of the Machico Parish Assembly, Eulália Remesso, leader of the social-democratic bench in the Municipal Assembly, LuĂs Ferreira, a councilor in the Municipal Chamber, and Cláudia Gomes, a deputy in the Madeira Legislative Assembly. These officials, alongside other local leaders, shared insights on their roles and the challenges they face in their positions.
The meeting was not only about sharing experiences but also about engaging in meaningful discussions with the locals. José António Viveiros, President of the PSD Machico Parish Commission, emphasized the need for ongoing dialogue with the community. He advocated for a political approach characterized by openness and accountability, highlighting the importance of active listening and presence in the community.
Viveiros pointed out that despite changes in the municipal leadership, the fundamental issues in Machico, such as cleanliness and strategic direction, remain unaddressed. He criticized the current management as lacking ambition and strategic vision, urging for a more proactive approach to governance.
This initiative reflected PSD's longstanding commitment to governance and community engagement, stressing that politics should transcend mere administrative functions to genuinely serve the people's interests.
