In a heartwarming incident, the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses were called to the Estrada do Corujeira in Monte to rescue a cat stranded atop a power pole. Similarly, in Câmara de Lobos, emergency services discovered the body of an elderly woman, also in her eighties, in a house at Ribeira da Alforra. These incidents have cast a somber mood over the communities, reminding residents of the vulnerability of the elderly.
