João Manuel Nunes Atanázio

João Manuel Nunes Atanázio, a beloved resident of Bairro do Espírito Santo and Calçada, passed away on April 9, 2026. His funeral took place on April 10, with a mass held at the Câmara de Lobos cemetery chapel, followed by his burial. His family, including his wife, children, and grandchildren, expressed their gratitude to those who offered their condolences.

Germano Pinto de Oliveira

Germano Pinto de Oliveira, a resident of Caminho da Aldeia, was remembered fondly by his family and friends. His funeral was held on the same day as João's, with a mass at the same cemetery chapel. The Banda Recreio Camponês and the Confraria de Santa Cecília also paid their respects, highlighting Germano's involvement in local cultural activities.

Teresa Mendes de Azevedo Fernandes

On April 7, Teresa Mendes de Azevedo Fernandes passed away. Her funeral on the following day included a mass at the cemetery of Nossa Senhora das Angústias in São Martinho. Teresa's family, comprising of her children and grandchildren, thanked those who stood by them during their time of grief.

José Fernando Gonçalves

José Fernando Gonçalves, known as the brother of Zeca the taxi driver, died on April 7. His funeral was held on April 8 at the Câmara de Lobos cemetery chapel. José's family expressed their appreciation for the medical care he received at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça and Hospital Dr. João de Almada.

These funerals, attended by numerous friends, neighbors, and community members, underscore the tight-knit nature of the Câmara de Lobos community. As the town reflects on the contributions of these individuals, their memories continue to inspire and unite those who knew them.
